ALL STUDENTS TAKE NOTICE

On 2/21/18 at approximately 11:48 am, a School Resource Officer with the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office was on duty at Milton High School when he was informed of an incident involving a juvenile student.

A student knocked on a classroom door and loudly yelled “School Shooter” three times. The teacher opened the door to find the student standing in the hallway, laughing. The student was immediately taken to the School Resource Officer and the Dean.

There were 13 witnesses to the incident. The juvenile student was immediately taken into custody and arrested.  The student was then transported to the Santa Rosa County Jail where he was booked and processed. The student was charged with the violation of the following Florida State Statute:

• (1 Count ) Disturbing the Peace-School Function- Second Degree Misdemeanor

FSS-871.01.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Santa Rosa County School Board has a Zero Tolerance Policy related to these types of incidents.
