BROUSSARD’S CELEBRATION

By Randy Meredith

On Sunday afternoon Broussard’s Bayou Grill restaurant located on Gulf Blvd in Navarre held a private pre-opening celebration for family and friends. I was invited to attend by the Broussard family and brought my wife.

There was a great vibe to the place when we entered and our hostess promptly seated us at a window table. Our waiter John introduced himself and handed us the menu and took our drink order.

Starter sampler for the table is Fresh cut, hand battered onion rings. Crab dip with fried bow tie pasta. Last was Boudin balls with remoulade sauce .

There was a choice of four entrees. Catfish acadiana, shrimp and grits, shrimp po boy and blackened chicken po boy. My wife ordered blackened chicken po boy and I ordered catfish acadiana.

Desert is deep fried sweet potato bread pudding with pecan praline sauce.

I did not take a photo of desert because it was so good by the time I was done it was to late. There was nothing left to photograph.

Last I had to check out the bathroom and yes it was clean and kept with the theme.

Here is what I enjoyed about my dinner.  I ate everything and enjoyed a well prepared meal from start to finish. My wife made the same remarks to me. Service from John was impeccable.

The soft opening to the public will begin later on this week. I recommend to wait a few weeks to try out any new restaurant.

My congratulations to the Broussard family and thank you for bringing such a great restaurant to Navarre.
