The following is a release from Rich Aloy, SRSO.
Yesterday, Deputies responded to a call at 1451 Navarre Beach Causeway in reference to a possible shooting. Upon our arrival, it was determined an adult male was deceased in the parking lot. Major Crimes Detectives and Crime Scene Technicians began to sort through evidence.
As is common practice with our Agency, all death cases are initially investigated as suspicious until proven otherwise.
The deceased was identified as Toby Arnez Dixon, DOB 3/1/71 black male from Birmingham,Alabama.
At this point, Detectives have not discovered any indications of foul play but the investigation remains active and ongoing.
