It is fast approaching the deadline that ends April 15 for Santa Rosa residents to apply for REBUILD Northwest Florida’s Residential Hurricane Mitigation Program. The program provides homeowners the means to fortify their homes against hurricane force winds will end April 15.. Successful applicants can receive FEMA funding for 75% of the cost of improvements and REBUILD manages the construction. Homeowners are responsible for the remaining 25%. There are no income or home value limitations to participate.
“We are encouraging Santa Rosa residents to take advantage of this funding before it ends,” said Santa Rosa County Commissioner Jayer Williamson. “Not only does mitigating against storm damage provide a safer home for your family, you are also eligible for possible discounts on windstorm insurance.”
Mitigation enhancements available through the program include roof deck attachments, reinforcement of roof-to-wall connections, gable end bracing, shutters for windows and skylights, and reinforced exterior doors including garage doors.
