Greg Evers Killed in One-Vehicle Accident

Greg Evers served in the state House for 10 years from 2000 to 2010, before serving in the state Senate from 2010 to 2016. He represented Florida’s Second District in the Senate, which includes Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.

According to the FHP  a 2005 GMC pickup was traveling north on Griffith Mill Road approaching a right curve in the roadway. The driver failed to negotiate the curve and traveled across the southbound lanes. The vehicle continued northbound and collided with a guardrail on the west shoulder of the roadway. The vehicle continued through the guardrail and into a creek where it became submerged. The exact time of the crash is estimated to have occurred sometime Monday night.

The family released a statement saying “On behalf of the family of former State Senator Greg Evers, it with great sadness that we announce his passing.  Senator Evers was involved in a single car accident last night near his home in Baker, Florida. The family asks for your prayers as they deal with this sudden loss.”
