Early Sunday morning in a one-vehicle accident in Okaloosa County a Gulf Breeze man was killed in a one vehicle accident according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol.
Brian Thomas O’Sullivan age 57 was traveling on U.S. Highway 98 around 2:45 a.m. when he failed to safely negotiate a left turn onto a unnamed roadway west of Kelly Plantation Drive. He entered the center median island and collided with a traffic sign.
O’Sullivan continued driving, turning left onto Commons Drive and failing to negotiate a right curve in the roadway, entering the grass median and ending up hitting a tree according to the highway patrol report.
O’Sullivan was not wearing a seatbelt. The fatality investigation is ongoing.
