Navarre Car Show
The Pirates on the Panhandle Social Club will be hosting the 17th Annual Navarre Beach Car, Truck & Bike Show and Craft Fair on the second weekend in October (Friday the 13thevening @ Stripes Pub & Grill and then all day Saturday the 14th at the Navarre High School). For fourteen (14) years, the Annual Car Show was run by NABOR (Navarre Area Board of Realtors) and the last two (2) year’s the show has been sponsored by the Pirates on the Panhandle Social Club, a 501(c)3 Florida Corporation.
With a goal of improving the Car Show, the Pirates were able to add 33 Arts & Craft booths two (2) years ago which brought more people to the Car Show then in years past. Last year they improved the Car Show by adding a ‘live band’to the show while still having well over 100 vehicles at the show and a ton of Arts & Craft booths. Working with one of their sponsors, STRIPES Pub & Grill, the Pirates were able to add a ‘Friday Night Cruise-In’ that took place in the Publix Shopping Center with thirty (30) vehicles showing up. Stripes awarded the ‘Cruise-In Winner’ of the night, a ’69 Barracuda, with a nice trophy. This new Friday night addition to the Annual Car Show brought even more excitement to Navarre and it sure turned out to be a fun evening w/a lot of exciting cars and car enthusiast attending.
Because of the sponsors, along with T-Shirt sales, entrance fees and other proceeds, two (2) years ago the Pirates were able to send checks from $150 to $500 to the following 14 different charities totaling over $4,000:

Last year’s proceeds were even more and the Club, so far this year, has donated to the following organizations’:
- $1,500 to Refuge For Women;
- $1,000 to the Weekend Food Program;
- $1,000 to The HER Foundation; and
- $1,000 to the Chamber Foundation for the 8thAnnual Take-A-Kid-Fishing Event.
The Club voted this year to provide MORE dollars to fewer charities so that their donations would offer a bigger impact to that organization. With these four (4) latest donations this brings the total donations to charity from the Pirates on the Panhandle, Inc. to over 62K since they started the Club in May of 2009.
The Pirates know there are a lot of good events held here in Navarre each year; however, for the last 16 years, the Navarre Car Show has been a ‘fall staple’ and once again will be a big part of the Santa Rosa County’s Beaches to Woodlands promotion. The Pirates on the Panhandle received the 2016 “Spirit of Navarre” award from the Navarre Beach Area Chamber of Commerce this year and will continue to support other worthwhile charities in the community as they continue to make a difference in the Navarre area.
