Rob Williamson to serve on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Technology and Telecommunications Steering Committee.

Santa Rosa County Commission Chairman Rob Williamson, District 4, has been selected to serve on the National Association of Counties (NACo) Technology and Telecommunications Steering Committee.
“More and more of our daily lives are dependent upon the technology we use, and the jobs of the future will come from the technology and telecommunications sectors,” said Williamson. “I am grateful to my fellow Florida commissioner and current president of the National Association of Counties, Bryan Desloge, for selecting me to serve on the Technology and Telecommunications Steering Committee for our national association. This opportunity will help position Santa Rosa County and northwest Florida as policy leaders in decisions related to cyber security, cutting edge technology, and emerging telecommunications platforms.”
As a member of a NACo steering committee, Williamson will engage in monthly conference calls to stay updated on developments from Capitol Hill as well as participate in NACo’s legislative and annual conferences. The steering committee will coordinate with member county government officials, state associations and affiliates to promote practices that bolster the nation’s ability to thrive amid ever-changing physical, social and economic conditions.
“The expertise and engagement of our steering committee members is a main reason why Congress and federal agencies often look to NACo for feedback on legislative policy decisions being made in Washington D.C.,” said Desloge.
