There has been a shooting at the Tom Thumb located at 87 and Larado in Navarre, FL.
Employees of Tom Thumb reported to their manager that no one saw anything that happened. One employee said ” there was a loud boom and it sounded like a tire blew out.”
The owner of a local tattoo shop located across the street from Tom Thumb heard a loud boom and thought it was a tire from a car that blew out but another person who was standing outside the shop said that it sounded like a gun shot so the owner called 911 at 5:41 PM.
The person who was outside the shop said he did not see the shooting but saw what took place before and after the shooting. There was one truck and a SUV parked on the South side of Tom Thumb. A silver SUV and a white truck. The two vehicles were not parked together. A person from the silver SUV was with people from the white truck standing outside for awhile outside of the white truck. After the loud bang a male ran to the passenger side of the silver SUV and jumped in then the silver SUV took off. The other group of people from the white truck got inside and left.
The crime scene is taped off. Bloody clothes left behind was recovered by SRSO.
UPDATE: The victim has been transported to the hospital and SRSO is attempting to identify a suspect at this time.
NEW UPDATE: There is a active crime scene at the entrance and lobby of Days Inn located on 98 in Navarre. A male who was dropped off there is believed to be the same person who was shot tonight at the parking lot of Tom Thumb on 87 and Larado. The male was transported to a local hospital and he had a gun shot wound to his leg.
SRSO is going over surveillance video from Tom Thumb and Days Inn to help them identify the others involved.
In a separate incident tonight gun shots were heard on Deer Lane in Navarre around 6:45 PM but no suspects have been located. A parked car on that road had a bullet hole in it. SRSO is still investigating.
