The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office has received reports of a telephone scam involving our Agency.
During the call, this individual is representing himself as a Deputy. This individual then tells the person there is an active warrant for their arrest. The caller will then demand for money in lieu of arrest.
THIS IS A SCAM.
The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office will not call anyone to tell them we hold an arrest warrant and we DO NOT ask for monetary payments.
If you receive this call, please disconnect immediately and contact our dispatch at 850-983-1190.
If you are ever solicited for payments over the phone and the call is suspect, we recommend contacting the caller back at a verified and trusted number which you research yourself.
