Two Veterans Day events in Santa Rosa County

Two Veterans Day events in Santa Rosa County will be attended by members of the Board of County Commissioners on Saturday, November 11. Activities are as follows:
Veterans Memorial Plaza, Milton
9:15 – All parade attendees assemble at Milton High School for parade
9:30 – Parade travels down Highway 87 to Berryhill then to Willing ending at the Veterans Memorial Plaza
11:00 – Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Plaza, 5191 Willing Street in Milton
– welcome from Commissioner Salter
– presentation and post of colors, prayer, national anthem
– proclamations by Milton Mayor Meiss and Commissioner Bob Cole
– recognition of coloring contest winners by Lt. Col. Aaron Brunk, CO HT-18
– keynote address by Col. David Morris, USMC
– presentation of God Bless America by Airam Davis
– laying of the wreaths
– rifle salute, taps and benediction
12:00 – 4H Cookout (donations accepted)
1:00 – Dedication of new monument “Letters from Home,” created by sculptor Roxie Platt to honor those who sent letters and care packages to veterans

10:30 – Junior ROTC March to Navarre Park , 8543 Navarre Parkway in Navarre
11:00 – Ceremony at Navarre Park with Commissioner Rob Williamson
