What’s in a sign?

First the back story about the new sign and why it is gone. The original replacement sign with the new slogan was damaged in transit and the company that made the new sign sent down two cheaper versions so that there would be something up for this weekend or until the new ones could be made.

Well last night Rob Williamson was working late and drove by to look at the temporary signs as he had a lot of negative emails from residents about how cheap they looked.

When Rob saw the signs he quickly understood why everyone was so upset and he removed the signs until the new ones arrive.

Rob believes in the marketing plan to brand Navarre as a relaxing place to vacation and to compare Navarre to Destin one would have to agree that our area is a lot more relaxing.

The original sign that has been there at the entrance way to Navarre beach is more of a landmark than anything else.

What will be done to reverse the decision to replace the landmark sign with a marketing sign is up to other people in the county.

Rob is going to ask everyone involved to consider putting back the landmark sign and still support the new marketing plan as it makes sense to let future visitors know how relaxing Navarre is.

We support both the marketing plan and returning the landmark sign at the entrance to Navarre beach.
